DEHYDRATED TREATS
Storage of Dehydrated Treats.
Because our treats are 100% natural, with no preservatives or additives you need to be carful in the way your store them. Treat the treats the same way you would your own food.
We suggest storing your regular offal and chew treats in an airtight container, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. The toppers are great stored in little airtight jars in your pantry, an example of the jar we use to store our toppers is shown in the topper gift pack.
If the treat is oily or has a bit of fat on it, store in airtight container in the fridge or freezer.
What's the difference between Odin's Pet Snackery Fur rolls and Rawhide?
Rawhide is not safe for dogs to chew, it is indigestible, often processed with toxic chemicals, and poses severe choking or blockage risks if swallowed in large pieces. Our fur Rolls are a natural alternative, available in Goat, Deer and Kangaroo are 100% natural, made from animal skin from local farms in NSW. They Promote dental health, a natural dewormer, there are no chemicals or additives and are made from just a single ingredient.
Are treats healthy?
Just be aware that not all treats are the same. Here at Odin's Pet Snackery, all our treats are made by us on site. We do not import treats from another manufacture. We have spent the time sourcing our raw meat from local Butchers, fish markets and Farmers and we cut it up and dehydrate it here on site at Weston NSW. All our treats are healthy and nutritious and contain no preservatives, no additives, no colours, no flavours, no sugars and no salts.
How often should you give your dog treats?
This is complete up to you and your vet. It depends on your dog, the bread, age and any health concerns that need to be taken into consideration.
In saying that most Chew treats are designed to be given on a regular basis, typically every day or a few times a week. This will prevent tartar build up, and increase your dogs oral hygiene. We give our dogs a chew daily, whether it's as a bordem buster or whether it's part of one of their meals.
The offal treats (lung, liver, spleen, kidney and heart) need to be given in smaller amounts, these can be used as a training/reward based treat or part of their daily meal. Depending on what meat we are using in our dogs meals that day depends on the way we incorporate these treats in our dogs diet. If we are feeding just a raw meat and veg mix, we will often supplement this with dehydrated offal treats and a topper. If we are using an all in one mix (where the offal is incorporated into the raw meat) we use the treats as a reward or special treat.
